Happy Valentine's Day!

In case some of you are looking for a last minute card idea, I thought I'd take a minute to show you the one I made for my husband, Rejean.  (it's okay...he's already seen it. ;)

I don't make shaped cards very often, but this time I decided to try something new.  I used this awesome die by Tim Holtz as my inspiration.

And here is the card I made for my Prince Charming.

Directions

The picture wheel measured 4" in diameter.  So, in order to make the card base, I cut out two white 4" circles using my George & Basic Shapes cricut cartridge. I then scored the upper part of one of the circles and glued the two circles together.  That gave me my fold at the top.

Next, I cut out my picture wheel in red.  I placed some scrap blue cardstock behind it and trimmed around it using my scissors.  Then, I added it to the front of my card.

Next, I added some hearts around the outer perimeter of my card in the tiny blue openings.  The frog was cut out using the Create a Critter 2 cartridge.  I then added some sparkle to the crown and heart with my Wink of Stella Marker and some Glossy Accents over that.

And the sentiment inside?  It says "I Wheely Love You!" (by Sweet Stamp Shop).  I thought it went cute with the picture wheel on the front of the card.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Love from Marci

I've been in a bit of a card making mood lately. And today, I pulled out this older stamp from La-La Land called "Sweetheart Marci".   Isn't she adorable?  Oh and the small heart gemstones are by Teresa Collins.  They're so glittery in real life and added just the perfect touch to my card.  I also used my clear Wink of Stella marker on her shoes - just because a girl can never have enough sparkle.

Please don't judge my copic coloring.  I am no expert by any means! :)  Today was all about just enjoying the process and having fun.  I hope you like it and that it inspires you to create some Valentine cards of your own.
