I'm back today with a LAYOUT to share! Can you believe it? Neither can I! :)
I have to admit, I had SO much fun creating these pages. For over a year now, I've been teaching Sunday School. This year I'm teaching grades 3 and 4. And I have to say I love these children so much! They are all so special to me.
In our class, I started a little program called "Bee a Blessing". I came across some tiny bee incentive charts, and then bought some bee stickers to put on them. So, each week the children tell me ways they have been a blessing to someone else. After each child finishes his/her chart, their name goes in to a drawing for a little prize (usually some cute erasers). They love it. And I love that it's helping to teach them the importance of serving others.
So here is my layout. Out of respect to the parents of the children I teach, I took pictures of my layout before adding the photos. I'm going to ask the children to fill in ways they have been a blessing (on the banners on page one). I think having their own
handwriting will make this layout all the more special. I'm sure I'll treasure it years from now.
The entire layout
The hexagon background is an overlay from the Close to My Heart Artbooking cartridge. I just cut off the edges. Also, because I wanted the hexagons in different colors, I traced each one out by hand and then fussy cut them just slightly bigger than the spaces. So, they actually lay on top of the spaces in the overlay. That way no white shows.
And finally, a close up of the bee hive. I used a Lifestyle Crafts embossing folder to give it some texture.
Most pieces were outlined using either Bic Mark-it markers, Tim Holtz Distress Ink Markers, or Copics. Outlining your diecuts gives them a bit of shading and dimension. I just love that little extra pop it gives.
Oh, and all the pretty glitter - courtesy of my new Wink of Stella pens. These are AWESOME and come in lots of great colors (including clear!). The thing I like most about them is that unlike Stickles, the glitter takes no time at all to dry. I highly recommend them!
Back soon with more new projects! I have some Lawn Fawn stamps (my new addiction!), that I can't wait to use!
Have a great weekend! xo
