My Pink Stamper Design Team Post

Hi!  I'm so excited to share with you the challenge we were given for this month:  Make something for Valentine's Day.  How fun!

Last week, a few friends and I went out to supper to say farewell to a dear friend who is moving to Colorado. :(  We are all going to miss her so much!  Anyway, I guess the saying is true that you never know when inspiration is going to hit.  Because my friend Carol had something that TOTALLY inspired me!  It was this:
So what makes this camera unique?  It takes instant Polaroid pictures...about the size of a credit card!  Super cool!

And it gave me an idea.  How fun would it be to create a layout where the photo mats looked like polaroid pictures?!  This layout was so easy to make!  I only used one Cricut cartridge for it!

And my little "faux" polaroid:

And finally, the adorable stamped sentiment:
For my layout, I used the My Pink Stamper  "From the Heart" set which I LOVE!!!  It has so many wonderful sayings on it. (and did I mention it's a BIGGIE set? You can check it out here. :)

My Pink Stamper "From the Heart" stamp set
Cricut Sweethearts cartridge (Love cut at 2 3/4", keys cut at 1 3/4")
Photo Mats: White - (3) @  3 3/4 x 5; Polka Dot paper (3) @ 3 1/2 x 3 1/2"
Striped border (2) @ 2 1/2 x 12
Small red strips - (2) @ 1/4 x 12"
Hearts were made using both a 1 1/2 and 1 1/4 punch.
Tim Holtz Distress Ink
Bic Mark it Markers
Patterned Paper is from the Reminisce Love Collection ("Sweet Dots" & "Love Lines")

** A couple of notes:  I inked around the edges of all hearts.  I also outlined between each line on the striped paper using my markers...just to give it a bit more definition.  Pop dots were used behind all the smaller hearts to add a bit more layering to my layout. **

Have a great day everyone and please be sure to visit My Pink Stamper for more great Valentine ideas! :)

My Pinkalicious Blog Hop

Hi Everyone!  I hope you're enjoying hopping along with us tonight.  If you are coming from my friend Roberta's blog, then you are in the right spot!  If you just happen to be stopping by, then be sure to start here so you don't miss anyone! :)

For this month, we were given the following challenge:

Make something for yourself or that you would give someone to welcome the fresh clean start of a New Year! It can be a card, scrapbook page, gift or home decor item. Pretty much anything goes!

I don't know if it's  because it's the start of a new year or the fact that 2011 seemed like such a rollercoaster ride.  Or perhaps it's the fact that I'm quickly approaching the big 4-0.  But, I decided that I needed a journal.  So, I dusted off my Bind It All (which I have never used!) and decided to give it a go.  My coils are a bit off, but I'm still very happy with it.  I also made some dividers within my journal of things I feel are most important to me.

"My Journey" - My Pink Stamper "Font-abulous"
"Don't sweat the small stuff" - My Pink Stamper "Fabulous Phrases"  (I need that reminder ALOT! LOL!)

Divider #1

In this section, I plan on recording at least one thing I'm grateful for each day (that is unique to that particular day).

"Thank You!"  - My Pink Stamper "Spectacular Sayings"

Divider #2

I've heard the expression:  "Those that never learn from their mistakes are destined to repeat them."  This is my spot to write these life lesson's I don't have to learn them the second time around. :)

"Wise Guy" - My Pink Stamper "School Days"
Owl - "Paisley" Cricut cartridge - cut at 3"
Divider #3

My FAVORITE section - Believe in Everyday Miracles - a spot to record answered prayers or perhaps those things that some might refer to as "coincidences".  A  tangible reminder to me that nothing in life happens by accident.

"Believe" - My Pink Stamper "Biggie Christmas Sentiments"
Rainbow - "Hello Kitty Greetings" Cartridge - cut at 2 1/2"

**Any of the My Pink Stamper stamps used in my journal can be found at these online retailers. **

Your next stop on the hop is my dear friend Maria.  And once you're done hopping, please be sure to go back to My Pink Stamper and join in the challenge with us.

And just in case you might have missed anyone along the way, here is the entire list again.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Enjoy the weekend! :)

I'm back! :)

Wow, it seems like forever since I updated my blog.  I'm so sorry, you guys!  My husband and I had been planning a trip to Canada, but as it turned out, the trip happened sooner than we had planned.  I mentioned in my previous post about a family member who is ill, so even though the circumstances under which we visited were hard, it was still nice to see everyone.

Anyway, let's talk scrappin'! :)  Today, I have some projects to share.  I had them finished prior to our trip, but didn't get a chance to post them until now.  I'm afraid I don't have any directions for these, but if you want me to measure something, then please don't hesitate to ask.

All of these projects feature various papers, rub-ons or stickers from Imaginisce.  And yes, these pictures are all of me when I was a little girl. Haircuts in the 70s definitely weren't flattering! LOL

After taking this picture, I did realize my title was a bit crooked.  It has since been fixed. ;-)

All of the "bling" swirls were made using my i-Rock tool.  I have to admit, at first I loved this product but not so much after doing this layout.  Halfway through completing my page, my tool stopped heating up.  So, off to Michael's I went and purchased two more (luckily, they were on sale 1/2 off).
But unfortunately, I had the same experience with both of them as well.

And finally, a card I made using the My Pink Stamper "Everyday Life" stamp set.  It's one of my favorites.  If you'd like to have a set of your own, you can find it at these online retailers.

In other news:  Santa brought me this for Christmas!  Eek!  I'm so excited!

He also equipped me with the Nikon D3100 for Dummies book.  (You think he might be trying to tell me something?? LOL).  So, hopefully in 2012, my photography skills will improve! :) more thing...the first My Pink Stamper Blog Hop of 2012 is scheduled for this Friday night at 8 p.m. CST (9 p.m. EST).  Hope to see you there!
