Blog Your Heart - May

I've never done anything like this before (mainly because I don't think my life is exciting enough that anyone would care to read about it. lol)  But, I've heard about "Blogging Your Heart" and I think it might be a positive thing.  Sometimes it's good to get your thoughts out.  And maybe we can all get to know one another a little bit more through it. :) So here goes:

1.  Today I spent a good portion of my afternoon cleaning the floors in our house,.  Can I just say that this is NOT a fun job?  Aside from the length of time it takes, there is always a delicate balance I need to find when reaching down to do these tasks.  Otherwise, I fall right out of my wheelchair.  And at 40 years old, it's certainly not as easy to get back up as it used to be! lol

2.  Speaking of's about that time of year again.  That would be SPIDER season.  Ugh.  I can't even begin to tell you how much I HATE them.  And here in Georgia, we have something called Wolf Spiders.  If you ask me, they look about the scary equivalent of a tarantula.  Last summer, I fell out of my chair while trying to kill one.  And you guessed it -  right beside it!  I'm talking eyeball to eyeball with the creepy crawlie.  I'm pretty sure he knew my intentions because he did NOT look happy!

So, this year I'm set.  I have a super duper big fly swatter on hand.  Hubby laughed when I bought this  industrial size swatter at our local Walmart.  I didn't care. This time I'm not taking any chances.  In case you would like one too, it's called a Super Swatter by Black Flag.  They advertise that they're  25% bigger than your regular fly swatters.  One can only hope because I have pretty bad aim sometimes. ;)

3.  We found out some sad news this month when we took our two dogs to the vet to have their teeth cleaned.  The routine blood work showed an abnormality in Muffin's liver count.  We still don't know the cause, but she's on medicine and we're hoping and praying for better news next month.  Muffin is a recue dog and has been such a blessing in our lives.  I cannot imagine what we would ever do without her and to be honest, the mere thought of it scares me.

4.  Despite the little obstacles we sometimes face, life is good.  And I'm constantly reminded that there is much to be thankful for!

That's it for now.  Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Ish, wolf spiders. I live in MN and have only seen those kind of spiders up North by the lake. Huge, ugly and scary. I can feel for you. Stay in that chair and swat away with that super duper new swatter!

Shelly, my heart goes out to you with your fur baby. We have cats and know firsthand when anytime something is going on with them, our hearts just sink. Look on the bright side and love her as much as you can now. It's great you took her in as a rescue...there are so many more that need love. Thank you and God Bless.
As far as Spiders...eeeekkk! In KY we have Wood Spiders...our house is over 5,000 sq ft with a walkout basement and I believe they can carry it off...they're everywhere.
Take care!
