Cricut Imagine card

Robyn featured the CUTEST card on her website the other day. (If you'd like to make one too, you can find her video with instructions here).

 I tried her dimensions and thought I'd share what I came up with.  It's a 4.25 x 4.25 " card which, although it may be a slight bit small, will fit in your standard A2 size envelope.  Just a super simple card for that special person in your life who is celebrating a birthday. I hope you like it.  :)

 I've really been enjoying  my Cricut Imagine machine.  The images here are from the Best Friends cartridge and were cut at 3.75". I love layers so I used lots of pop dots on this.  First -under the group of balloons and also the clouds.  Then, another pop dot was added behind the red balloon (to create another layer). 

For the sentiment, I used the My Pink Stamper "Birthday Crazy" set which can be found at these online retailers. 

Oh, and can I share a secret with you? :)  I'm sure you all know how much I love Robyn's stamps, but there is another product that you might like to check out.  It's the My Pink Stamper DVD called "Cricut Layouts Through The Year".  For those that love to buy Christmas gifts early, this would make a perfect gift for that scrapbooker on your list!  Or, if you're making a gift album for someone, there's lots of inspiration to be found on it.  I love my copy and highly recommend it!!

Quick tip

Ranger's Stickles glitter glue come in a whole array of beautiful colors.  But my personal favorite is "crystal". Because it is clear, it will take on the color of whatever you put it on....adding just a beautiful glittery effect.  This not only will save you time in trying to find the perfect color to match your project...it will also save you some money!

Or if you're like me, and have a bit of a Stickles addiction...keep a couple of "crystal" in your stash too - just in case you run out of one particular color. :)



Card using the Cricut Imagine

Can you believe it?  I actually created something! LOL :)  Last Friday, my Cricut Imagine machine was delivered.  To be honest, I debated for a loooong while as to whether or not to buy the Imagine.  But, I found a great price on Ebay for one, and I decided to take the plunge!  And let me tell you... I am sooo glad I did!!  What an awesome, awesome machine!  It's so user-friendly and the colors are much more vibrant than I thought they would be.  

So, today after playing, I have a card that I'd like to share with you.   It's not my typical style (a bit messier than I'm used to) but I'm really happy with the way it turned out. The machine is capable of doing layering, but I decided this time to just keep things nice and simple.  And instead of using my Cuttlebug, I dusted off my old, seldom used paper crimper to add some texture to my card.

Both the owl and the turquoise patterned paper are from the Imagine More cartridge (that comes with the machine).  To add a little extra character to my owl, I used some googly eyes and some stickles to make his belly sparkle.  Sentiment is from My Pink Stamper's Tweetie Hoo Puns which can be found at these online retailers.
