Vintage school themed layout

Today I decided to try something very different from my usual kind of layouts.  Basic Grey posted this sketch awhile back as a challenge.  I got busy and never got around to trying it until now.  I had in mind a cute  layout complete with a school bus, some apples, etc.  But, I really wanted to challenge myself.  So, I decided to try my hand at a vintage themed layout.

I had fun with it and it gave me the opportunity to play with my Tim Holtz inks. (my hands are now covered!  This may be a one time deal for me...my first, and quite possibly last, vintage page. LOL).  I'm only kidding.  Sometimes it's fun to challenge yourself by trying something new.

Here is the sketch I used.  I didn't follow it exactly...but hopefully it's close enough.

And here is my layout:

Thanks for stopping by! :)

That is so cute! Tell you what... How 'bout I cook for you both and you make these beautiful scrapbook pages for me? Sound like a fair deal? ;) Of course that would mean you'd have to move back to Atlantic Canada... :D lol

You totally hid the nail directly on the head with this page! It screams 'vintage'. I LOVE it!
