My Pink Stamper Design Team Post

Hi Everyone!

Our Design Team assignment for this month was to create a  masculine or Father's Day themed project.

Dad is a carpenter by trade and in all honesty, the person I still believe hangs the moon....at least in my world :)  And although he always seems to have a  million things on his to-do list, he still has always managed to put his priorities as a father first.  So, that year he flew down to visit and make renovations to our home (to make it more wheelchair accessible for me).   Rejean and I feel so blessed to have him...are so grateful to him for this (and for all the other countless times he's been there for us!). Okay, now I'm REALLY missing him, so on to today's project.

I created a layout of the special time in our life when we bought our first home and Dad came down to make some modifications to it for me.  I used several My Pink Stamper sets for this such as "Boy Crazy", "Love-alicous" and "Everyday Life".  All of them can be found at the retailers found here.

And since it's hard to capture all the many elements to this page, let me try to show a close up of a few of them.

I created the house using good ol' fashioned paper piecing.  No Cricut used there.  But I did find a couple of cute images on the Cricut Lite Handyman cartridge.  I created the house using chipboard, some cardstock and a two cuttlebug folders for added texture.

And a close up of some of the sentiments:

The sentiment on the stamp set used above actually says "for my Friend", but inking only the "my friend" part worked perfectly for this title.

I wanted to keep the journaling private, so the photo mat opens up to reveal our note.  I incorporated a sentiment from the My Pink Stamper "Love-alicious" set as part of my journaling.

I think that's about it.  If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to send me an email.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Happy Father's Day, Dad -with lots and lots of love! xoxox

Your project is awesome and you managed to make me cry. Missing my dad is horrible. He passed away 8 years ago and a day doesn't go by that I don't miss him more than you can imagine. You are so blessed to have your dad with you. My mom says maybe my dad passed away before I went into my wheelchair because she didn't think he could handle seeing me hurt like this.
