Under Construction

I'm so excited to share with you another project using one of Robyn's new My Pink Stamper sets called "Boy Crazy".  This set is sooo fun and has all kinds of cute sayings for that special little (or big!) boy in your life.

First, I took a red 12 x 12 piece of cardstock and cut the inside out, leaving about 1" all the way around. (Remember to save the inside piece as you will be using this later for your photo mats.)

Take a 12 x12 sheet of patterned paper.  I chose this blue plaid paper from the Fancy Pants "My Family" paper stack as I thought it had a masculine feel to it. Cut 1/2" off two sides - your paper should now be 11 1/2 x 11 1/2" .  Ink around the outer perimeter using any brown ink of your choice (I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Brushed Corduroy - along with the Inkssentials blending tool which I LOVE and use all the time!)

Add your pattern paper to the center of your red border.

Next, cut three strips of paper all roughly 2" x 11 1/2".  Ink around each piece using the same brown ink you used previously.  Layer on bottom of page as shown below.

Cut one truck and one tractor using the Boys Will be Boys Cricut cartridge. (images on page 37 and 75 of handbook.)  Both vehicles were cut at 3 1/2 inches. I traced around the outer perimeter of each image using my Bic Mark-It markers before assembling or adhering anything down.  I also added dimension by using pop dots under the tires of the tractor and also under the white "rims" of the truck.

Photo Mats were cut to the following:
2 Red @ 4 x 6
2 White @ 3 1/2 x 5 1/2"
Yellow 2 x 5 1/2 (then punch)
Green 2 x 3 1/2" (then punch)

Black border around page-- three pieces cut at  3/4" x 11 1/2" ( then punch using EK Success Border punch).  Arrow was cut at 2" (same cartridge).

(Sorry for the lines in the photo.  I tried to take the picture by our window but the blinds created shadows.)

**I added a small black mat around the windows of each vehicle so that they showed up a bit better. **

And the adorable sentiments from the My Pink Stamper "Boy Crazy" set which can be found here. (along with many other fun sets!)

Hope you liked this little tutorial.  Thanks so much for stopping by! :-)
