Need a laugh? :)

I heard this quote years ago, and although I'm not sure who the author is, I absolutely love it.  It goes like this:

"Blessed are those who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused."

Earlier I was going through my scraproom and came across the very first album I ever made.  And so I thought maybe some of you could use a good chuckle (even if it is at my expense!). LOL

These pictures remind me that scrapbooking is about preserving memories of, and for, the ones you love.  And if you're like me and have no children to pass down those albums to, scrapbook anyway!  There will be others who will love just seeing what you create.  Or do it for yourself.  Scrapbooking is such a fun creative outlet!  These pages certainly brought a smile to my face, and as you will see from the pictures, they are nowhere near "works of art".  But what they are, are "works of my heart".

My first album was one made for our first dog, Dexter.  He was 8 years old when my husband and I adopted him from the Humane Society. He was the apple of our eye and we took him everywhere with us...including weekly trips to the ice cream shoppe.  He was one spoiled boy!!   And although he has been gone for many years now, he still holds a special place in our hearts.  I'm so thankful I have this album to remember him by!

So, without further ado, here they are.  Try not to laugh TOO hard! :)

My diecut/sticker phase...and it didn't matter if the stickers actually matched the theme of the pictures.  Stickers...lots and lots of stickers.  That was the key to a great page.

Then, I discovered decorative scissors and a love for templates.

Apparently I was a paper piecing lover even way back then!  Who knew that many years later the Cricut would make this so much easier? (and from the look of those crayons at the bottom of the page, I desperately needed some intervention!).  I'm so thankful to Provo Craft for creating the Cricut machine!!

And here is a picture of me...deep in concentration.  (Don't you just love my tongue sticking out? LOL) And how about my nicely "organized" table?  I guess there's no denying it... I've always been a messy scrapbooker!

Thanks so much for taking this walk down Memory Lane with me.  I hope you're having a wonderful day!!
