Here it is! Our very first layout for Cricut Cuteness (click on picture to enlarge)!! I wanted to do something with a Valentine theme and the monkey on the Sweethearts cartridge inspired me to create this. I have to give credit to my dear friend Cheryl...the tutu on the little monkey was her idea and handiwork (using some tulle and pearl ribbon she had in her stash). Isn't it CUTE?? I love the way it turned out.

I wanted the monkeys to be 3 dimensional. So, I cut out the base for each monkey in dark brown twice. Between each layer, I put pop dots. Then, to the top layer I added the face, ears, etc. Here is a picture to give you a better idea of how I did this:
A few other notes: In each corner, I wrapped the monkey's tail around the branch before adhering it to the page. I also chalked all of my pieces before gluing anything down.
For this project you will need:
2 12x12 sheets of blue
2 12x12 sheets of dark brown
2 12x12 sheets of yellow
1 12x12 sheet of green
1 12x12 sheet of light brown
1 12x12 sheet of white
scrap of pink cardstock for small hearts & mouth of the monkey on top of page 2 (I used EK Success small paper shaper punch for this)
4 rhinestones (I chose 3 pink and one purple)
6 googly eyes
tulle (gather it through a piece of floss), then add pearl ribbon on the upper fringe.
**If you're anything like me, you probably have tons of scrap paper in your stash. Feel free to use these up when making diecuts for your pages. It'll save you a little money...perhaps to invest in more cartridges! :o) **
