All occasion cards

Hello!

Big news! I actually created something! :)  For the last two weekends, I attended crops with friends and  I managed to create two all occasion cards. (I know two cards do not seem like a lot, but it is for this slow crafter. lol)

I bought some fun goodies from Simon Says Stamp so that inspired me too.  I'll share with you some links in case you might be interested in them too.  Lately, I've been loving the stamp sets that come with dies to match.  And, they work in my Cuttlebug - love that!

The first, uses an older Technique Tuesday stamp set called "Thanks for Everything".

I also used some Cricut cuts for the flowers and leaves.

The second card was created using this stamp and die set which I LOVE!  They also offer the stamps and dies as separate purchases, but I love having both to work with.

For the cloud, I used this stamp to give it a bit of a swirly texture.

Coloring was done using Copic markers.  It's a little hard to see in the picture, but I also used a Copic Spica Glitter pen to add some glimmer to the windows of the house and to the cloud.

Have a great week!

Blast from the Past. :)

While I'm working on some new projects, I thought I'd post an older layout (in case some of you might be looking for some Easter page inspiration and haven't seen this one yet).

On it, I used a number of My Pink Stamper stamp sets as well as the Disney Classics Cricut cartridge.  Isn't Thumper CUTE?!  I hope you like it.

See you soon with some more NEW projects! :)

Scrapbook Page

It's been a wonderful and crazy busy month so far!  My parents (from Canada) came for a visit!  They stayed a week with us and it was SO nice to see them!!  We also got to celebrate my birthday together so that made it extra special.

I have a super simple scrapbook page to share with you today.  I like it because of that very reason.  Scrapbooking is about documenting our memories...not about creating the "perfect" pages.  I think I need to remember that more and not put so much pressure on myself.  Scrapbooking should be FUN!

The turtle is from the Life's a Beach Cricut cartridge.  The journaling block is a Technique Tuesday stamp (which would work perfectly for Project Life as well).

Have a wonderful week! :)

Belated Happy Valentine's Day!

Hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day!  Ours was pretty quiet.  I told Rejean I did not want a big deal made about it (especially since both his and my birthday are within the next few weeks).  But, he did come home from work with this.

Isn't it pretty?  I'd never had a cookie cake before.  It's so yummy!!  I might have to start dropping hints now if I want another for my birthday. :)

Last weekend, the kiddies in my Sunday School class made some fun little projects.  I found the CUTEST idea on Pinterest (don't you just love that place?  I sure do!).  Anyway, a bouquet of flowers.  But, instead of actual flowers in the clay pot, you put suckers!

I painted the clay pots - one pink for the girls and one blue for the boys.  I also bought some styrofoam for inside and a HUGE bag of Dum Dum Pops.  I showed them the picture so they knew the general idea.  Then, I  let them create their own masterpiece.

This is what they came up with:

I think the boys ate more of the suckers than they actually put in their pot.  But that's okay.  They had a ball and that's the main thing!

They also used their "Be(e) a blessing stickers to decorate.  Each Sunday, we have a time where each child can share how he/she was kind to another person during the week.  And if they were, they get a little bee sticker.  They love it - and I love that it encourages them to serve others.

And finally, we made some Valentine cards.   The children are in grades 2 and 3 and we only had an hour to get everything finished, so I keep the design pretty simple.  But the patterned papers were double sided, so that allowed them to "customize" each of their cards a bit.

The frog is from the Create a Critter 2 cartridge and the stamp is from My Pink Stamper.

And one confession before I go...I've officially jumped onto the Washi Tape bandwagon.

Aren't they fun?! I have a bit of a cloud obsession right now, those are my favorite.  Can't wait to play with them!  So, look for some projects soon featuring these pretties! :)

Have a fabulous weekend!! xo

Butterfly Card

It's been awhile since I posted, so I thought I'd say hello today and share a very special card I made.

But first...how was your Christmas??  Ours was really nice.  We even bought a new artificial tree this year.   It was kind of a necessity.  Our old one was starting to look more like a Charlie Brown tree.  :)

Here it is - I just love the beautiful lights!  And the best part?  We bought it at Michael's and when we went to pay, it was half off!!

So, all in all, it was a lovely Christmas.  Our church had a beautiful Christmas Eve candlelight service.  We have this tradition where they give each one of us a candle.  Then, we each take turns lighting each other's.  Once all of them are illuminated, we sing Silent Night.  It's such a special time and I look forward to it every year.

I also applied for a job as one of Santa's reindeer.  Sadly, I didn't get the job.

Then in January, the "Annie" production came to our city.  So, a dear friend and I decided to go.   Actually, she's more like family to me.  We had a GREAT time!  The cast was incredible and the theatre was amazingly beautiful. We're already planning on going to another show just as soon as we can.

Also in January, we had some pretty nasty thunderstorms with the threat of tornadoes.  Where I was born and raised in Canada, we didn't deal with tornadoes or even the threat of it.  So, although I've lived in Georgia for many years now, I still have a fear of them.  In fact, I'm teased relentlessly about my phobia. :)  Anyway, I heard one time that you should always protect your head in a tornado.  And since I didn't have a helmet, I decided I needed to take matters into my own hands.

So, how do you like my bowl?  It's very fashion forward don't you think? I thought it was the perfect accessory to go along with my pink pjs.  LOL

After that, hubby and I came down with that nasty bug that's been going around.  It lasted two weeks and was awful.  That'll teach me for not getting my flu shot!  Thankfully, we're both feeling a lot better now.

And now on to the most important part..a friend of mine that I scrapbook with, brought this to our attention.

There is a very special girl named Cassie who is turning 16 on March 6th.  Cassie has a condition called EB or Epidermolysis Bullosa.  All she wants for her birthday is to receive birthday cards.  She has requested  $1 in each card so that she may donate it to the Butterfly Foundation - which funds research into finding a cure.

You can find her story here:

I am amazed by this young girl's strength and her wanting to do something so selfless for others.   And since I spent a lot of time in hospitals as a child, this was something that truly touched my heart.  So, I made this card for her.  I hope she likes it.  The butterfly is something I received from a local Cricut swap.

If you would like to participate in this wonderful project too, please send a card (home made or not, I'm sure it doesn't matter) with $1 enclosed to:

And I'm sure both her and her family would appreciate your prayers.   Thanks everyone! xo

Merry Christmas!

Hi everyone!  Oh my goodness, it has been SOOOO long since I've posted.  I am so sorry.  I had such plans on making Halloween and Thanksgiving cards and scrapbook pages, and I just never got around to any of it.  And do you want to know what my poor excuse is?

A messy, MESSY craft room!!!  I'm talking floor to ceiling chaos.  I would post a picture but honestly I'm too embarrassed.  How in the world I managed to collect so much stuff over the years is something I will never understand.  So, my New Year's goal is to simplify.  I may donate some stuff and I may do some giveaways if there's anything I think you may like (so stay tuned for that).  :)

I did manage though to get one crafty thing made lately.  It was for a Cricut Swap with some local friends.  The theme was "bugs" and I made 12 of these little cuties.  The bee is from the Paisley cartridge and the hive and grass are from Create a Critter.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and I PROMISE you'll be hearing much more from me in the New Year!  xoxo

Scentsy anyone? :)

Hi Everyone!  I'm on my way out to dinner tonight with a dear friend but wanted to take a minute to say hi and to share with you something I think is pretty exciting.  I am hosting my very FIRST online party!!!  It's with a company called Scentsy.  In case you've never heard of Scentsy, they have all kinds of wonderful products but specialize in flameless candles.  (they use a lightbulb inside both their plug ins and tart warmers).   They also have bath products and lovely things you can scent your laundry with.

I just thought I'd mention it to you since gift giving season is right around the corner.  My party is open to anyone who might like to place an order.

Here is the link if you'd like to take a look:

Under my reps picture, you will see my name:  Shelley Lee.  And all you have to do is click on the "Buy from party" link in purple.  My party closes on Nov. 1st.

Thanks so much everyone!  I hope you're having a great day and I'll be back soon with some projects to share. :)
